For 2026 we are offering guided/catered overnight trips in the Western Wallowas. Our Basecamp-style trip utilizes a 20′ yurt from Pacific Yurt Inc. and a 20×16′ wall tent for guest sleeping.

Join us in style this winter and come enjoy our comfortable accommodations in the Western Wallowas.  Our Basecamp-style trip will now accommodate 8 guests with the addition of a 20′ yurt from Pacific Yurt Inc.  The “Buck Creek” yurt will be our primary hangout zone and include our kitchen where we prepare hearty meals and share stories.  For full groups, our Yurt Services Technician (YST) will pre-heat the wall tent, stoke the sauna, and have hot appetizers ready once you return from skiing.  We serve Alaska-caught salmon, halibut, WY beef, and other local produce, meats, and veggies.  The 20×16′ wall tent has been converted into the guest sleeping quarters, complete with zero-degree down sleeping bags, and comfortable sleeping pads.  Our custom-built sauna will help soothe your muscles after a long day of ski touring.

Chartered Experience:  For the most intimate experience we recommend chartering the camp, with a max of 8.  If you cannot book a minimum of 6 guests, we may add additional folks to your trip.

What our clients say about this trip

Our group had the BEST experience at the Eagle Cap yurts!! The yurts and their systems are so well thought out, from the sauna, to the sleeping hut, to the dining experience! Our guides Kelly and Sara knew the surrounding area inside and out. A blue bird day in February made up for the sub-par snowpack, and the terrain was welcoming for a wide variety of skiing abilities! Could not recommend Eagle Cap Mountain Guides more.

Victor has an amazing talent for unassumingly putting together huge tours, confidently and safely guiding through complicated terrain.

Victor and Kelly organized and guided our April 2021 Editor’s Choice trip for Backcountry Magazine. Their logistics, story-telling entertainment and professionalism exceeded our expectations. A trip with Eagle Cap Mountain Guides is sure to be a seasonal highlight for anyone!

My wife and I have had the opportunity to join Victor on 2 ski trips in the Wallowas and a climbing adventure on Mt Goode.  Whether it be hero powder skiing, graybird rain skiing, standing on a remote summit, or slogging out endless miles on a trail, our adventures with Victor have always been epic!  He is organized and thorough in his trip planning and logistics.  He has a high level of fitness, and he’s an incredibly capable skier, snowboarder and climber.  Victor’s professionalism, sense of humor, and character all amount to someone you want to spend time with both on the mountain and in the hut/camp!  We highly recommend Victor as a guide on your next adventure!

Victor has guided many group dynamics over 8 years of my trips to the Wallowas. He’s cool, calm and most capable. His cliffside manner is impressive both in helping manage the over- stokers’ desire to send and encouraging those that need a little boost of confidence. All the while he’s sharing knowledge and epic adventure tales.

Thanks to everyone who skied with us this winter.  If you came on a trip in 2025 and want to book for 2026 send us an email. info@eaglecapmountainguides.com
